Staten Island Islamic Center faces Islamophobia attack.

In Staten Island, NY, the Muslim community wants to build a mosque. However, Islamophobes come into town full force in order to prevent the building of the mosque. Very unfortunate.

The NY Times reports on a community meeting with more than 400 attendees to discuss the issue and ask all the questions that they have.

However, after being supportive of the project, the pastor withdraws his support and succumbs to pressures from Islamophobes.

The Community is unhappy about the decision: every religious community has the right to build their houses of worship. There is an open letter about what happened from Ibrahim Ramey

Fox news also reports on the building of the mosque and interviews parties. There is even a report about a demonstration against the mosque!
